AHA Leaders of Impact - Joshua Worth
IPS is pleased to announce Leader of Impact nominee, Joshua Worth. Josh is currently Chief of EMS for MRTSA, as well as a consultant for IPS. Josh strongly believes in the need to develop leaders who can effect change in EMS administratively and operationally to progress the profession. He champions evidence-based practices recognized by leaders in the healthcare industry and effectively leverages these principles to overcome operational hurdles in the prehospital care space. Josh also believes that leaders must conduct themselves with integrity, the highest level of professionalism, and a dedication to doing what is best for patients and communities.
“I’m excited to be nominated for the American Heart Association Leaders of Impact campaign. As part of this year’s class of changemakers, I’m forming a team to make the greatest impact possible on the health of our community. We will be raising much needed funds for the innovative research and lifesaving initiatives of the American Heart Association. This initiative is important to me, because I’ve seen the devastating effects heart disease can have on those we love,” Josh explained. “The American Heart Association understands the urgency of addressing these systematic disparities in health. They are on a mission to advance health equity because true equity can only exist when everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a healthier life. It's staggering to note that the disparities in healthcare and access to resources often result in unequal health outcomes, with minority communities bearing a disproportionate burden of heart disease.”
Annually, in 150 cities, community leaders collaborate with Leaders of Impact to champion the initiatives of the American Heart Association, striving to promote equitable health within their respective localities. These nominees formulate campaign strategies, assemble teams, and motivate their networks to rally behind the AHA's crucial mission of saving lives.
IPS is proud to be a member of Josh’s team, and in an effort to help him raise money for this worthy cause–IPS will match your contribution! The donation sites are now live and accepting donations.
This outreach is to help raise critical funds that impact our Western PA community in ways such as:
Funding clinics that provide blood pressure screenings, patient materials, self-monitoring blood pressure cuffs and machines and SO much more!
Stocking healthy community pantries so that individuals have access to healthy fruits and vegetables that may not be available through their SNAP programs or that they may not have access to in their neighborhoods.
Providing funding for critical research for health equity, disparities in women’s heart health, and research of heart health in minority communities.
We hope that you will join Josh’s team, in tandem with IPS, to help support this amazing cause!
